It's common knowledge that Yamaha develop some of the most sonically sophisticated pieces of machinery in the world, ranging from glorious, high-end musical instruments right down to dynamic and impacting home cinema and audio-visual receivers and amplifiers. The A-S3000 is no exception to this, and exists as one of Yamaha's most impressively constructed and sonically superior amplifiers to date.

The A-S3000 features a Yamaha-specific 'Rigid Streamlined Construction'. This has been carefully engineered to provide a strict and accurate level of anti-vibration protection, while also utilising short cable routes. The large toroidal transformer found within the amplifier has been solidly mounted within an independent three-dimensional inner frame, to reduce unwanted resonance even further. The amplifier has been designed with 'comprehensive low impedance' at the forefront of its philosophy, using shortened signal paths and robust copper-plated chassis. The top panel of the unit is built from a 6mm thick non-magnetic, aluminium plate.

The symmetry within the A-S3000 has been engineered to be as productive as possible, using left/right design for independent pre-amplification and power amplification blocks while the 'Floating' and 'Balanced Power Amplifier' utilises MOSFET technology.

The toroidal transformer used within the A-S3000 draws directly to aid in eliminating potential signal transmission loss. A discretely configured phono amplifier is also present within the housing of the amplifier. Large and clear level meters at the front of the unit reflect the dynamics within the music being played through the amplifier. The aesthetic appearance of the A-S3000 has been designed to reflect the beauty of a musical instrument, while also looking (and feeling) robust and well-built.
