The TD-209 from turntable manufacturer Thorens, exists at the same spec as the TD-206, but retains the unique shape of its older sibing, the highly regarded and multi-award winning TD-309. However, the TD-209 does not sit quietly in the shadow of the revolutionary TD-309, but rather screams a similar superiority over other turntables in its class. Both models are built and engineered using only premium quality materials and components, and the TD-209 borrows a number of sophisticated technical features with the TD-309, in order to deliver the best possible vinyl playing experience.
The TD-209 comes with the TP-90 tonearm, which is based upon similar concepts as the TP-92 utilising the same ultra-low-friction, high-performance and innovative zero-stiction anti-bias system. The tube of the arm is built from rolled aluminium, which has been damped by the use of RMR technology, while the stainless steel counterwight located at the end of the arm tube has been double-decoupled. The height, azimuth and overhang are all adjustable.
