The HT/1508 is REL's biggest and most powerful home-cinema subwoofer, designed for exceptional theatre performance.

The Predator subwoofer combines a lightweight 15" CarbonGlas driver, for a fast, agile response, with their powerful 800 Watt linear power supply amplifier; which while incredibly powerful, still runs cool, producing detailed dynamics and consuming only 20 watts when idle.

This powerful 800 Watt amplifier is used as it means that the subwoofer is rarely stressed, running well below what the amplifier is capable of most of the time. Resulting in a subwoofer which runs cool and is in no danger of being overdriven or damaged, even when reproducing earth-shaking thunder and powerful gunfire.

As mentioned before, REL uses a lightweight CarbonGlas driver in their Predator subwoofer. This allows the subwoofer to react to the subtle lows of raindrops and footsteps in quiet scenes while being able to quickly react to the huge bass rolls and booming thunder you expect from your favourite films.

The HT/1508 not only sounds fantastic, but it also looks great. With the 25mm top plate, finished with 5 coats of hand polished lacquer, helping to dampen vibration in the cabinet. Also with an attractive cabinet surface, reminiscent of expensive brushed aluminium, which is actually a tough and easily cleanable composite material, which helps to keep costs reasonable.

Does size matter? REL certainly thinks so, with the Predator sporting a huge 15" lightweight driver, capable of keeping up with the fast dynamics of music, while maintaining the depth and power needed to deliver awe-inspiring, explosive bass.

Incredibly, the REL Predator is designed to be stacked, up to three units tall, using solid, milled aluminium couplers to securely hold the subwoofers together in an enviable stack of over-the-top bass performance. When used in stereo stacks (Three Predator's per side, Six in total.) the subwoofers will produce over 7000 Watts or peak power. That should be enough right?

Who is REL?

REL subwoofers are engineered to deliver deep, powerful bass in both stereo and multi-channel systems. Even full-range loudspeakers can often not extend to the lowest bass frequencies, which reduces the impact and involvement for the listener in both music and movie playback.
