Rega Planar 2 & IO & DALI Oberon 1 Package

This package comes with x2 2m lengths of QED 79 strand speaker cable

Please note, turntables such as the Rega Planar 2 require a phono stage to work and will produce no sound without one.
Many amplifiers have built-in phono stages, such as the Rega io or Brio.
They can often be identified by the RCA input marked 'phono' on the rear of the amplifier.
If being used with active (powered) speakers or with an amplifier without an integrated phono stage, a separate phono stage such as the Rega Fono A2D or Fono MM will be required.

The Planar 2

The newly launched Planar 2 was developed over two years of vigorous research, released alongside the Planar 3. The Planar 2 makes use of the company's highly adept RB220 tonearm. This tonearm incorporates a new ultra-low friction design, completely bespoke to Rega, zero play ball bearings, housed within a state of the art, more rigid yet more lightweight bearing housing. This bearing housing was designed with a new automatic bias setting, removing the requirement for the user to set the bias. This means that the turntable is essentially plugged and play right from the box, bar some simple arm balancing.

The Planar 2 features a new 11mm self-securing brass bearing, which offers a better fit and reduces stress on the bearing to prevent the transfer of potential energy that may otherwise distress or degrade the integrity of the sound quality. The platter makes use of a newly developed float glass 'Optiwhite' 10mm design, which drastically improves the accuracy of the platter.

The high-gloss acrylic laminated plinth is stiffer and better than before, improved both aesthetically and ergonomically with the new power switch positioning. The plinth comes in two finishes; a gloss black or a glossy white.

Rega has set out to disrupt the sub £500 integrated amplifier market with their new IO integrated amplifier. This all-new amplifier is based on one of our favourites, the award-winning Brio. The pre-amplifier features a motorised, high-quality ALPS Blue stereo volume potentiometer, under control via both IR remote(included) or chunky front panel knob. The new IO features a high-quality Moving Magnet phono input stage, for simple connection to a turntable (We recommend the Rega Planar 1 or Planar 2), along with two additional line-level inputs for connection to a CD Player or Network Streamer. The IO also features a high-quality headphone output and a hefty 30 Watts per channel capable of driving any bookshelf speaker and even some floor standing speakers, thanks to it's generously rated toroidal mains power transformer, high current bridge rectifier and high quality, long life smoothing capacitors. The new iO amplifier pairs perfectly with Rega's new Kyte loudspeakers but would also work well with most high-quality loudspeakers on the market.

      What is DALI’s Oberon Series?

Oberon is DALI’s award-winning entry-level series which sits just above their Spektor series, enriching and improving upon everything which made Spektor so popular. Don’t let the phrase ‘entry-level’ trick you, as the entire Oberon range is truly class-leading, from its impressive sound to its high-quality build which easily takes on speakers at twice the price.

Oberon features new oversized, wide dispersion tweeters, reinforced wood fibre drivers and sophisticated cabinet design. This range has redefined what is possible at this price point, with DALI's signature engaging sound and exceptional build quality.

Design and aesthetics were clearly important to DALI when designing the Oberon series, from the elegant aluminium bases found on the floor standing models, to the contrasting, contemporary grilles and the high-quality vinyl & material finishes found throughout the entire range.

An upgraded, reinforced wood fibre driver design can be found throughout the Oberon range, allowing the speakers to produce a sound which far exceeds expectations left by the sleek, modestly sized cabinets.

DALI’s Oberon series, like every DALI speaker, is very easy to pair with almost any amplifier. Be it a powerful Class-D power amp or a more laid-back tube amplifier, Oberon speakers are easy to drive, resulting in a very musical & entertaining experience.
