Quad ESL-2812 electrostatic loudspeakers are an update on the ESL-2805. The ESL-2812 are the latest in a long line of speakers that Quad are possibly best known for, back to the original ESL-57 that made its debut back in 1956.

Improvements over the outgoing model include an upgraded power supply along with a new acoustically transparent grille. We're pleased to say the ESL-2812 improve on the outgoing model where it really matters though, sounding even better and creating their trademark holographic soundstaging beautifully. In addition, they also stand slightly taller, narrower and less deep, making them easier to accomodate, and feature additional wood finishing on the top and sides of the bases.

Quad's patented panel technology results in a combination of the speed and accuracy only possible from an electrostatic loudspeaker; together with the imaging and sound-staging only possible from a theoretically ideal point source; and the coherence and continuity of a single drive unit. With possibly the lowest distortion of any loudspeaker, the ESL can be enjoyed for hours on end without fatigue; never adding or subtracting from the original recording. Even at low volume levels, they retain the full detail and drama of the music Sold as a pair.
