Moving Coil cartridges feature an inverted version of the Moving Magnet design. Instead of a magnet sitting on the end of the cantilever between two coils, the coils are attached the cantilever and a magnet is placed near them. Because space within the cartridge at this level is extremely limited, the coils are made from an exceptionally fine wire. The coils tiny size results in a very low output.

Featuring a nude fine line stylus with a cylindrical aluminium cantilever, the Ortofon Cadenza Red is well equipped to get the most from your LP records without breaking the bank. Displaying great purity and precision due to it's 6NX (99.9999%) pure silver wire coils, also features superb channel balance resulting from a revised coil winding process, giving very stable stereo images. Very well detailed reproduction with wide dynamic contrasts, this cartridge will let you hear new aspects of your recordings.
