The new Evolution 50CD player is billed as a high quality DAC with CD transport built in. In recognition of the growing demand for superb sounding DAC's to get the very best from all digital sources including computers, Creek have engineered the Evolution 50CD to offer state of the art sound quality today and also in the future as new DAC technologies emerge, as the DAC section of the circuitry is modular and therefore upgradeable.

The slim casework of the 50CD echo's that of the matching 50A integrated amplifier released some months ago. The OLED display offers excellent readability of white text on a black background, whilst the soft touch, backlit push buttons encourage use by the owner. A substantial solid brushed aluminium alloy fascia gives a premium feel to the product whilst also looking beautiful in either black or silver finish.

Internally a low magnetic radiation toroidal mains transformer powers the main dc power supplies with separate windings for analogue and digital circuits, giving an exceptionally low noise performance. High quality electrolytic reservoir capacitors and highly stable voltage regulators allow the full performance of the DAC and analogue output stages to be realised. A Wolfson DAC chipset is employed offering 24 bit 192kHz resolution/ sampling for the best possible sound quality from your digital music sources. Five digital inputs are on offer to add to the flexibility when connecting to your hi-fi system - USB, Optical, Coaxial inputs are found on the rear panel, together with both balanced and unbalanced analogue audio outputs.
