Since the integration of spikes to the bottom of racks, tables, speakers and speaker stands,the common issue of ensuring that the unit is solid and level to the ground, without damaging the floor inn the process. There have been a few attempts to rectify this problem, including low-budget methods of using coins to keep the spike from the floor, as well as purpose-made hifi floor protectors.

Chord's new Silent Mount Floor Protectors take this issue and resolve it in a unique and productive way. The Silent Mount Floor Protectors are compatible with smaller aluminium spike mounts, right up to the top range Titanium stand spike mounts.

While the units look simple in appearance, their combination of premium materials, finely engineered shape, and genius construction are evidence of the rigorous and complex level of research conducted in order to create such a sonically advanced article.

All Silent Mount models include a set of self-adhesive, thin, felt pads. This means than when using the Silent Mounts on a non-carpeted floor, the floor is not only protected from any possible scuffing - but the felt pads have also been chosen and designed to minimise any unwanted vibration or resonance, resulting in a drastically enhanced sound quality. If using the Silent Mount on a carpeted floor, then you don't need to use the felt pads.
